The Union Tribune reported last week that Time Warner Cable is letting customers in Mira Mesa and Tierrasanta, California, watch television over their home computer's high-speed internet connection (via paidcontent). The pilot project is representative of what some believe is the future of TV - broadcasting over the internet. But "Broadband TV," as Time Warner calls it, offers the same 75 channels that are available with its standard Advantage service and would be available only to Time Warner Cable subscribers, if it were to be expanded from the six-month pilot project.
