Time Revamps Website Strategy

The renovation of some of its online properties will be a priority throughout 2007 for Time Warner's Time Inc. The sites for People and Real Simple will undergo makeovers following the publisher's redesign and re-launch of Time.com, AdWeek writes.

The Real Simple site in particular will get a good deal of the attention. Seeking to draw in more repeat viewers, Time will stock the site with constantly updated information on celebrities and other original content.

That is similar in form, if not function, to the revamp of Time's site: more interactive, with more blogs and other features to draw people both deeper during their visits as well as encourage them to check back more often.

The renovations are part of an overall mandate within the company to focus more on online efforts. Not all have been successful, though, with Time having scuttled the Office Pirates humor site in August after it failed to find a large audience quickly enough.
