Not all online marketers may need to have a nuanced grasp of the underlying web apparatus and tools that support their craft. But they do know this:
As such, the following new statistics are something to consider.
A Look at the Speedier Mobile Websites
Most mobile websites saw an increase in speed and performance in July, with the average page load time 14.17 seconds, compared to June's 15.34 seconds, according to Keynote Systems' July 2011 News and Portal Index, exclusively provided to Wireless Week. Also, third-party content had an adverse impact on how a page loaded.
At 4.29 seconds, Facebook had the fastest page load time followed by Google, Bing, Google News and The Weather Channel.
Chrome 12 is the Fastest Browser
Compuware has just released new data from a project that has attempted to measure the fastest web browser in the “real world” of desktop users. The answer — Google Chrome. (via TechCrunch)
Page load time is lowest, at 3.433 seconds, for Chrome 12. Apple’s Safari 4 and IE 7 - neither of which are the current versions, TechCrunch notes - clocked in at a slow 6.149 and 6.006 seconds respectively.
