Terra Plans US Buying Spree

Bloomberg: Terra Networks Says It May Make Acquisitions in U.S.

Terra Networks SA, the owner of the Lycos group of Web sites, said it's interested in making acquisitions in the U.S. to strengthen its position in the world's largest Internet market.

Terra, which ended last year with 1.75 billion euros ($1.9 billion) in cash for acquisitions, said U.S. unit Lycos is now the fourth largest Internet company by paid subscribers in the U.S.

I expect Lycos to target sites that are a mixture of community and entertainment (I think they call it communatainment), as that is their new thing… perhaps Classmates.com, or are they too expensive ?!?
