Adweek: Telemarketers Sue FCC Over 'Do Not Call' List
The American Teleservices Association (ATA) filed a law suit Monday seeking judicial review of the Federal Communications Commission's new rules that restrict telemarketers' ability to cold-call people who have signed up for the new "Do Not Call" registry.
The ATA claims the new regulation is "overkill" and that the FCC may not even have the proper regulatory authority over the matter. This case is very likely the type of challenge that a "Do Not Spam" registry would also attract, were the government to create such a list.
