WSJ: 'Do Not Call' Registry Is Pushing Telemarketers to Plan New Pitch
The following paragraph from a Wall Street Journal article makes me shudder.
"Faced with the prospect of losing a direct line to the living room, marketers plan to flood mailboxes and computers with an avalanche of solicitations. In addition, consumers who call these companies on other business may well find they have to navigate an earful of annoying sales pitches."
That's right. Reacting to the new Do Not Call law, telemarketers are shifting their energies to other areas including e-mail and direct mail. Can you just imagine moving all those telemarketing efforts from the phone to your inbox? If email is having trouble as a workable medium today, just wait until the telemarketers get hold of our inboxes!
