Teen Tracking firm Alloy Snaps Up Sports Source TAKKLE

Teen media/tracking firm Alloy Media+Marketing has acquired TAKKLE.com, a high school sports/college recruitment site.

TAKKLE launched in 2006 and immediately drew the interest of Sports Illustrated, which used the site to expand its high school outreach efforts. It enables high school athletes to build personal and team-based profiles, share photos and videos, track sports statistics and connect with coaches and sports recruiters.

The user base is comprised of nearly one million athletes, male and female; advertisers have included Tampax, Spalding and Gatorade.

"We expect to grow the platform to provide more assistance in matching students with colleges," stated Co-Founder/CEO Matt Diamond of Alloy, which won 700,000 registrants following the deal.

TAKKLE will be incorporated in Alloy's TEEN.com ad network. The latter reaches about 20 million young online users.
