Blog search engine and ranking service Technorati has announced the creation of its own advertising network.
Technorati Media represents the firm's foray into a new business model, which has long focused on driving traffic to blogs and publishers.
The network was tested by eight sites whose combined traffic topped 17 million unique visitors per month. Advertisers like Honda, Best Buy, Visa, Nike and a number of movie studios were also part of the test.
Technorati Media will eventually go live to all wishing to join, differentiating the network from communities like Glam, which often require an invitation.
The company believes its catalog of tags, keywords and blog directories will help advertisers better target ads across relevant blogs.
