More than 200 new websites, including some owned and operated by Technorati, Terra, Primedia Outdoors Online, CarDomain, AllBusiness.com, Kiplinger and New Digital Group, joined Tacoda's online advertising network this month, reports MediaBuyerPlanner. That brings the count of participating websites to over 1,000, delivering more than 85 million unduplicated U.S. unique users monthly.
The company expects to continue adding between 10 million and 15 million unique users a month for the next four to five months, MediaPost reports.
Tacoda collects information from Web sites about visitors' surfing habits, then sends visitors display ads based on that data. Some sites, such as Technorati, only provide data about consumers, whereas others also serve ads. Tacoda CEO Dave Morgan estimates that about 20 percent of the 1,000 websites in the network just provide information about consumers.
