Idearc, the publisher of the Verizon Yellow Pages and Superpages, has just purchased Switchboard.com, a local ad and yellow pages provider, from InfoSpace for US$ 225 million.

The purchase is expected to add much-desired scale to the Idearc platform, in terms of both advertising and in its online directory listings services.
