Viddyou is a subscription-based startup that hosts HD-quality video clips of "personal content" — video intended for selected circles, like close friends and family.

Viddyou calls itself "the first 1080p HD video sharing service," good news for HD handicam owners who want to control distribution of their videos on the web, according to Reuters.

Viddyou costs $34.95 to join. The subscription pays for a max upload file size of 1 GB and unlimited storage. There are also free plans, with uploads limited to five minutes in non-HD quality.

Viddyou membership comes with HD widget embeds and mobile phone video playback, including to the iPhone. There are currently no ads on the site.
