DMNews: Study: AIM’s E-Mail Best Practices on Hold; Co-Chair Resigns From Committee
Ian Oxman, vice president of e-mail consulting for RappDigital Innovyx, has quit as co-chair of the email deliverability committee for the Association of Interactive Marketing's (AIM), citing the Direct Marketing Association's (DMA) lack of desire for real spam reform. The DMA, parent organization to AIM, put the long-awaited email best practices guidelines on "indefinite hold" last week.
As additional AIM members note that they will let their memberships expire, the chances increase for a renewed schism between old world direct marketing advocacy and the new world interactive advocacy that existed before the DMA bought out the AIM organization a few years ago.
