VOX's chart of use
A Kaiser Family Foundation study showing the media habits of teens revealed that they voraciously consume all forms of media, often several at the same time. "Old world" media and "new media" were used about equally, according an iMedia report on the study. Daily media consumption by people between the ages of 8 and 18 increased by about an hour a day, from about 7.5 hours to 8.5 hours. Most of that gain came from video game use and computers. Interestingly, since more of that media use is simultaneous, the absolute number of hours kids spent consuming media didn't change (staying steady at about six hours and twenty minutes a day on average). With only so many hours in the day, the kids simply turned on more devices at the same time.
