Factors other than price have a significant impact on the buying decisions of online shoppers, according to a ForeSee Results study due out today, according to MediaPost. The study looked at consumer satisfaction with sites and considered various factors: price, available selection, and overall experience (look and feel, navigation, function, performance and site capabilities). The five top-scoring online retailers in satisfaction - Netflix.com, Amazon.com, QVC.com, Newegg.com and LLBean.com - had 36 percent higher conversion rates than those retailers at the bottom of the list. The study did not find a significant correlation between shopper satisfaction and overall sales figures. Consumer-satisfaction numbers are a better indicator for the future of an online retailer than their pure sales figures, according to ForeSee.
