ANA: Advertising Industry Projected to Provide $5.2 Trillion Boost to the U.S. Economy in 2005
A Global Insight study touted by ad industry associations found that advertising will be responsible for 21 million jobs in the U.S. and about $5.2 trillion in 2005 economic activity. The study takes into account indirect connections, such as the increased revenues of non ad-related companies that advertise, and the jobs they will create with those extra funds. The numbers encompass about one in every six jobs in the U.S. in one contributory manner or another. The study anticipates $278 billion in ad spending in 2005.
