A new report shines a vastly different light on Google's recent performance than the comScore report that caused stocks to drop and hands to be wrung, reports Mediaweek.
The SearchIgnite report reflects a 40 percent rise in ad revenue, with paid clicks up 45.7 percent. Those numbers come from a survey of 800 million impressions and 53 million clicks logged by Searchignite clients.
That same report also found conversion rates from search ads were down and click through rates are markedly low, likely because of shopper hesitance to commit to a purchase after running a search.
Addressing recession worries, the ad technology firm assured nervy marketers that the search ad market should remain profitable because of its solid track record and the reliability of measurement tools available.
