Marketers who want to create impressive interactive experiences for users of mobile phones can now turn those phones into remote controls for interacting with out-of-home digital screens, reports ClickZ. Startup LocaModa this week launched StreetSurfer, which lets phones control in-store display screens by calling a number that connects the two devices over the internet. For now, it's designed to help real estate agents.
The likes of ReMax, Hammond and GMAC brokerages have interactive screens in their storefronts, and they can allow passersby to view home listings.
LocaModa is developing similar platforms for retail, entertainment and automotive.
