Rich Stalzer has resigned from his post as President of IAC Advertising Solutions, according to a report from paidContent.
A spokeswoman stated Stalzer will depart to pursue other interests, but assist with the resulting management transition. In the meantime, CFO Tom McInerney is overseeing his sector, which manages sales for Citysearch, Evite, March.com and IAC's ad network.
Stalzer joined InterActive Corp. in 2006 from Bankrate. Prior to that, he worked at Microsoft, ETRADE and Time Warner.
IAC recorded a $28.4 million loss in Q1 when revenue fell 22% in media and advertising, the department that houses its flagship search product, Ask.com.
Since then the company has aggressively sought more lucrative services while trimming the fat on older offerings. It acquired iPhone app Urbanspoon this year, and, through its property Match.com, purchased People Media for a $80 million earlier this month.
Meanwhile, IAC property Evite laid off 38 employees just weeks ago.
The short-term benefit of these activities is approaching its reckoning. InterActive Corp. is slated to host an audiocast of its Q2 earnings on July 29.
