Hearst's White Directory Publishers has partnered with Spotzer Media Group to accelerate the adoption of video advertising by local retailers.
As of today, Spotzer will avail its library of pre-produced videos — divided by business category — to ad clients in the White Directory. Advertisers can select videos through their White Directory sales reps, then tailor it to deliver their own selling points. The videos can also be customized to include certain people or situations.
The audiovisual templates purportedly cost "a fraction of the cost of a traditionally produced video." As an incentive, advertisers get exclusive rights to the video they choose within their region.
Distribution of the media will not be limited to White Directory's site. Videos can be optimized for search engines, then distributed to sites like YouTube, as well as syndicated across the online properties of Hearst.
Spotzer formed a similar relationship with MerchantCircle last month, at which time Google also began an AdSense pilot program for seeding sponsored video content across sites.
