Online TV ad buying company Spot Runner has bought Weblistic, which offers similar services for online ads.
The acquisition gives Spot Runner the ability to offer clients a unified platform for automated ad buying across multiple media. While Spot Runner targets the TV market, Weblistic offers buyers search ad placement. Spot Runner will likely expand that into display ads as well.
Spot Runner will tap existing relationships to garner business for online executions. The company hopes its campaign planning and reporting tools will prove valuable to businesses that can't afford big agencies.
Spot Runner will also use Globeshooter, its recently-purchased network of independent creatives, to produce video and photo collateral for online ad use.
