SportsLine Uses Super Bowl to Kick off Online Initiatives

CBS will offer viewers the chance to catch up on any of the commercials they might have missed by posting the ads to CBS SportsLine upon the completion of each quarter of play, reports ClickZ.

After they're aired, the ads will also be available for viewing on YouTube, with which CBS already has a distribution partnership.

Immediately preceding the game, CBS SportsLine will stream a 30-minute web-only pre-game show, shot in Miami earlier that day and titled "Cadillac Countdown to Super Bowl." It will feature product placement along with game predictions and analysis.

The online initiatives attempt to not only build a loyal following among tech-savvy sports fans but also provide sponsors with an innovative outlet. CBS has more plans for SportsLine, including "glogs" - game-analysis blogs - for events such as March Madness.
