Sponsored Tumbler Posts Sprayed Across Yahoo for Native Inventory Boost | B2B the Sick Man of Online Ads | New Anti Ad Fraud Effort Launched


  • Yahoo is leveraging Tumblr as a native advertising vehicle for advertisers, using the Yahoo network to promote Tumblr posts. Agencies are interested in the move, but some balk at the need to promote a Tumblr page, perhaps concerned about the precedent of Facebook, where Facebook page likes were expensively promoted, only to have Facebook later slam shut the organic traffic generated to advertiser's pages.

Business to Business:

  • Business to business ad campaigns are seemingly endangered, with two different takes published about why it is traditional campaign-based B2B advertising seems to be going away. Forbes says that spending is now favoring always-on platforms that exploit alternate online media, such as search and social. AdExchanger points to newer media buying behavior where vendor companies are consulted for RFP responses only after about 90 percent of the buy is already decided.
