Sonenfeld's Addams Family
Sony Pictures TV and producer/filmmaker Barry Sonnenfeld have signed a first-look deal through which the pair can develop projects for broadcast, cable and digital platforms, reports (http://www.mediaweek.com/mw/news/networktv/article_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1003599050) Mediaweek.
Sonnenfeld noted that, per the Sony relationship, he'd be focusing much energy on developing programs for phones, the Internet and direct-to-DVD.
The producer/filmmaker's credits include Get Shorty and The Addams Family. He recently directed the pilot for Pushing Daisies, an ABC drama for which he now serves as executive producer. He is also a principal for Notes from the Underbelly, an ABC returning comedy that also appeared on WBTV.
"I'm interested in the future of what happens to all of us because of the Internet," said Sonnenfeld. "I both use it and fear it."
