Sony Launches MySpace Minisodes, Happy Honda Foots Bill

Honda will be the first - and only - sponsor of Sony's soon-to-launch Minisode Network, reports The New York Times.

The car company will be the sole advertiser on Sony's online TV network which is hosted on MySpace and shows truncated versions of classic TV shows.

To match the shorter programming, Honda will run only eight second pre-roll ads that begin with a three second billboard, followed by a five-second commercial. The spots will promote Honda's Fit model.

Appropriately, the Fit is a minicar.

The Minisode Network will run for three months exclusively on MySpace. Afterward, Sony may find another hosting parter or put it on a site of its own.

Honda has the right of first refusal. While an exact amount for the sponsorship was not reported, it is said to be somewhere in the six figure range.
