Sony Pictures Television is launching a web-based soap opera called "Sophia's Diary" this fall. The show will "air" on UK-based social network Bebo and will blur the lines of fiction and reality even further via interactivity.
According to UTalkMarketing, the protagonist "Sophia" will maintain a Bebo profile that changes daily. Here she will interact with viewers, getting them involved in the plot.
Bebo has already had success with web shows. Its KateModern, the European spin-off of Lonelygirl15, generated 3 million views in its first 8 weeks. It sported a similar interactive twist.
