CBS News: Online 'Stars' Twinkle In Daytime

This Thursday will mark the debut of two new cast members on the CBS soap "As The World Turns." The stars, Jon Rowland and Courtney Cole, were selected after the network's Soap Opera Screen Test audition on "The Early Show" last spring and an online vote.
CBS is mounting another Soap Opera Screen Test to audition and choose new stars for its "Guiding Light." An online vote will play a role as well. The reality series "American Idol" also made extensive use of online voting for the selection of its winner and is indicative of the medium's ability to support other media.
