House of the Dead and the new remake of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre will launch for the Halloween season to the sound of non-traditional media buzz. Successful marketers in the teen segment are shying away from relatively expensive and increasingly unwatched traditional media and moving dollars toward online and promotional efforts. The buzz creation efforts of two different studios making slasher films - a sure filter for teens - are focusing on email, instant messaging, video game events and comic books.
