Slacker Startup Snags $40MM in Funding

Slacker, an online music startup that faces hefty competitors like iTunes and Last.fm, has acquired $40 million on top of an initial $13.5 million from various venture firms, reports TechCrunch.

Slacker combines three music-delivery services, utilizing the Web, desktops and a line of portable devices.

Last.fm, which also features a web and desktop player, just sold to CBS for $280 million.
