NYT: American Web Sites Speak the Language of Overseas Users

American publishers and some ecommerce firms are translating their sites into foreign languages to try to exploit the global nature of the Internet's market. Even British sites, like the BBC's, are creating alternative sites in the same language, geared more to the sensibilities and local interests of foreign readers.
