Singles Surf More, Spouses Do More Buying

AdWeek: Survey: Married Web Surfers Buy More Online

While singles surf about twice as many pages as married people, it is the betrothed who are more likely to purchase things online. Slightly more than half of married surfers bought something online, while slightly less than half of the single people did so in a Nielsen//NetRatings @Plan study conducted over the course of the fall.

Of the top five ad-supported sites visited by singles, all were dating sites. Depressingly, the five top sites for married people were FamilyFun, BabyCenter, AmericanBaby, NickJr and iVillage.
