Microsoft is positioning their new Silverlight video player as a bridge-builder between creatives and designers, reports ClickZ.
The company is playing up Silverlight's ease-of-use from a developer point of view. That's especially true, Microsoft said, when executing ideas dreamed up by creative teams, which are sometimes hard to translate to actual development. Silverlight thus keeps budgets down and schedules running smoothly.
Initial tests of Silverlight for rich-media ad creation have generated a positive user response.
The software plug-in works on Windows and Mac operating systems and in a variety of Internet browsers. The beta period, which has seen some problems in the downloading process, is expected to last through this summer before general release.
