Showtime, Yahoo Partner to Stream Series Online

Partnering with Yahoo, premium cable network Showtime will stream select episodes of some of its series online, hoping to add new subscribers by exposing viewers to the series in a new medium.

Showtime will stream full-length episodes of Weeds, Sleeper Cell, Brotherhood and The L Word, as well as several new series, Oct. 6-13, AdWeek reports. Among the new series to be streamed is Dexter. Showtime will also offer a sneak peek at The Tudors, which won't be released until next year.

This isn't the first time Showtime has streamed content via the web: The season premiere of Weeds' 2nd season appeared on MSN, and the now defunct Kirstie Alley series Fat Actress was streamed on Yahoo last year.
