The Search Engine Marketing Professional Organization (SEMPO) is launching several education and research initiatives for the in-house search marketer.
SEMPO is focusing on in-house search, aiming to help marketers in building their search team, improving knowledge-sharing within their organization and making the most of the limited time and resources in-house search marketers have, Dave Williams, cochair of SEMPO's In-House SEM Committee and chief strategist for 360i, explained to ClickZ. SEMPO's first steps in improving services for in-house marketers will include the creation of an invitation-only online discussion board where in-house members can post information and trade ideas.
Among the features available to members on SEMPO's site are case studies, white papers and discussion boards. SEMPO is also planning to conduct research specifically concerning in-house issues, as well as webinars and training courses specifically for their needs.
