A Seattle-based firm that manages online video players for companies is releasing software that will let others create their own customized player, reports The Seattle Times.
The company, thePlatform, is a subsidiary of Comcast and manages the online video players for ABC News, CNBC and Verizon Wireless. The new software, dubbed mpsPresent, is designed to let any website put video content in a player that matches the look and feel of the rest of their site.
Such a turnkey solution could be extremely useful to small companies that are unsure of how best to utilize online video.
The G4 network and part of NBC Universal are already using the software.
