Search to Be More Than A Quarter of All Ad Spending

IAR: Jupiter: Search Powers Online Ad Revival

Jupiter Research predicts that search advertising will amount to 29 percent of all online ad spending, up from only 10 percent two years ago. By that time, Jupiter assumes the total amount advertisers will spend on online ads will reach $14.8 billion, which would bring it to 6.1 percent of all advertising spending.

Today is the start of Jupiter's Ad Forum conference in NY. I suppose they're putting out these numbers just to remind us all that they're still here and that some things never change (i.e., optimistic Jupiter predictions). Reminds me of one of a favorite pieces of late '90s jargon: the WAGNER (wild-ass guess not easily refuted).
