DM News: FAST Rolls Out Local Search Technology
FAST Search & Transfer, a search technology firm that has sold enterprise search applications to large IT firms such as AT&T and IBM, will offer a web version of its technology to media companies hoping to come out with their own online directories. FAST executives say that directories are more likely to be successful in the growing local search market, where local sites with editorial insights on a region may have an advantage over national search firms like Google.
