Into the ... wild?
Samsung is partnering with Landmark Theatres to help promote independent film releases with the electronics company's corporate dollars.
The liaison is set to begin with Sean Penn's Into the Wild. Samsung will foot the bill for onscreen spots in Landmark Theatres, print ads on traditional media, and a large-scale online effort.
Promotional online work will include the launch of Blueseat.com, which proffers video content and interviews with the filmmakers, according to Variety.
Samsung will reportedly refrain from product promotion over the course of the relationship, aiming instead to curry brand equity amongst affluent American indie film audiences.
