E-Media Tidbits: How to Get Salon for Free

Steve Outing, of the Poynter Institute and Editor & Publisher, points out that Salon is now experimenting with letting users gain access for a day to its premium content areas by having them view premium ads from the likes of Mercedes. This is such a great idea I can't even begin to tell you. First, having established the value of the content with subscriptions, it is much easier for Salon to defend the value of that content to its advertisers with what is presumably premium ad pricing, as well.
