Russia's Online Ad Market to Hit $685M in '08


Not just a great place for Tetris

Russia's online advertising market totaled $369 million in 2007, about double the figure from 2006, reports MindShare Interaction (via Quintura).

Search and contextual advertising comprised $210 million, or 57 percent of total spending. Banner ad spend consisted of 43 percent, or $159 million.

This year, Russia's internet advertising market is expected to bloom to $685 million.

In September 2007, Russia led the EU in internet adoption, approaching 14.6 million users. As of last count, only 12 percent of the Russian population is online.
