Rumor: Google to Take Stake in CNET

Joining the Google complex?

Google may acquire a stake in San Francisco-based CNET, reports TechCrunch.

Last week when the rumor broke, CNET shares went up seven percent.

In 2005, Google took a 5 percent stake in AOL for $1 billion in exchange for control of ad inventory.
