America Online will introduce new rich media ad units along with its upcoming portal, and advertising has been top of mind in the design phase, ClickZ reports. The AOL ad sales team is on the road promoting the units, which will go on line when the new AOL.com is launched next month. AOL has involved the team in the portal's development meeting and taken away some lessons from sister company Advertising.com on they types of units that best sell and perform. All units will comply with the IAB's Universal Ad Package (UAP) guidelines. AOL executives told ClickZ that they have advertisers lined up for the portal's launch but declined to divulge details.
