R.H. Donnelley Buys Search Firm

Yellow pages publisher R.H. Donnelley has acquired privately held local search marketing firm LocalLaunch.

The LocalLaunch acquisition buttresses R.H. Donnelley's search marketing operations with an additional 40 SEM and SEO marketers, allowing it to bring search services in-house reports ClickZ. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. LocalLaunch will remain in Chicago, operating as a wholly owned subsidiary of R.H. Donnelley. Founder and President of LocalLaunch Justin Sanger will remain in his role.

"We're trying to provide a one stop shop for small and medium businesses…online and off," Sean Greene, VP digital strategy and business development at R.H. Donnelley, is quoted as saying. LocalLaunch will report to Greene.

It offers website, e-commerce and consulting services, and national and local search engine registration, in addition to management of pay-per-click, pay-per-call, yellow pages and local contextual search buys.
