Tom Green on Revver
As interest in watching home video clips on TV grows, user-generated clips uploaded to internet video service Revver will be available on Verizon Communications television service FiOS, the company's digital TV service, writes Reuters.
The videos, which will launch in FiOS later this year, will not be streamed directly to TV viewers but stored on the FiOS system.
Verizon is expected to keep at least 20 percent of advertising revenue generated from the video, with the remainder split evenly between Revver and the content creators, a Revver spokeswoman said.
Similarly, Comcast Corp., the top U.S. cable operator, last November said it would make select Internet videos from Ziddio.com available on its on-demand TV service, and TiVO landed a deal with online retailer Amazon.com to make movies and shows purchased online viewable on TVs connected to TiVo set-top boxes.
