Review: 3rd Party Search Apps Promising

AP: Review: Local PC Search Not Perfect

A popular review of desktop search technologies found Microsoft's built-in features not very useful, but found several third party products to be promising. The AP reviewer liked Google's new entry into the market, but it particularly liked the subscription-based X1 search application. Yahoo also indicated it would be coming out with a competing search application.
