RedZee Launches Image-Based Search Engine

For its Search 2.0 project, search engine Redzee.com has replaced text-based results with screenshots of results.

Users can fan through around 100 images of listings.

RedZee says the image-based search engine results in more qualified traffic for advertisers because users can preview where they are headed before clicking. RedZee has a patent pending on the image search.

Still in beta, RedZee is working on a sales ad model. There is currently no real estate available for text-based ads. However, according to DM News, it does offer three spots — highlighted in yellow — on a cost per click basis.

RedZee attracts some 20 million mostly-North American visitors a month. The Tampa-based company positions itself as "family-safe."
