Radio Shack Beckons iPhone Owners With Interactive Ad

Radio Shack is hoping to drive its in-store traffic of Apple iPhone owners with a mobile campaign that lets users test out related products that can be purchased from the retailer.

"The primary intent of the experience is to prompt existing Apple users to enhance their devices with accessories from RadioShack," Dave Hamlin, senior director of media at Radioshack, told Mobile Commerce Daily, which reported the campaign.

Users tap on the mobile banner ad, which takes them to a landing page featuring headphones, speakers and iPhone cases.  There, users can interact with the products—such as a smartphone keyboard that demonstrates how it folds up.

iPhone Users Most Loyal

Radio Shack is being savvy in its approach to iPhone owners—they are the most brand loyal of all smartphone owners, according to Mobile Life Panel data from mobile analytics provider Zokem. The iPhone platform scored 84% higher in loyalty ratings than Google Android.
