Opt-in News: Quris Launches Program to Measure Email Campaigns
Full disclosure: Although I had nothing to do with this announcement or product, Quris is a long-time client of mine. Another disclosure, Opt-in News's "story" is the verbatim press release (which, incidentally, we see all the time in the stories we cover. We normally try to link directly to the press releases in such cases, when we can, but Quris doesn't have this posted anywhere yet. At least Opt-in News doesn't put bylines on press releases like some sites *cough*MediaPost*cough*).
Anyway, the actual news seems interesting, in focusing on tracking email success by watching customers over time, what we used to call "customer lifetime value," though Quris repositions this as "longitudinal" analysis. I haven't seen the actual system in action, so I can't attest that it's more than PRware, but I do highly respect Quris's philosophy on email, namely that it's not about direct response but about long-term, personalized customer value. Without a doubt, email is the killer app of CRM, the spam problem not withstanding.
