Quantcast Presents Publishers with Site Visitor Snapshot Tools

Online measurement firm Quantcast has released a new series of tools that will make publisher's numbers more transparent for everyone, reports ClickZ.

Tags that publishers place in their content that can now be tracked, with the figures fed into reports. Tags can track just about anything, from webpages to games and widgets.

The reports built on that data is available to anyone, an effort meant to encourage publishers to provide potential advertisers with accurate and open information on their sites.

This transparency of information runs counter to most other reporting firms, which charge for access to the numbers they gather.

Quantcast has a handful of paid services, but the service is free for the most part. The company says its data is intended to illustrate who visits a site; it is not meant as a guide for site optimization.
