Website measurement firm Quantcast has added 20,000 sites to its database and secured funds for continued expansion.
Quantcast offers traffic information on sites, like Fox and CBS, in its system. It works with publishers to provide visitor data it calls "more accurate" because, unlike other measurement firms, it does not rely on panel data.
Data from over 20 million sites is currently available for free on Quantcast.
The company also secured $20 million in new financing from investors. It plans to use the money to find new publisher partners.
Quantcast lauds its direct-data system as more valuable for marketers, providing them with clearer perspectives on how they currently spend money online, versus how they might.
That information, says Quantcast, is especially important for brand marketers that do not use search ads often.
