The hotly-anticipated new video game, Enemy Territory: Quake Wars, will reportedly feature in-games ads, according to Ars Technica.
It was not stated which company will serve the ads, but one of the game's producers posted a message to a game forum to assure players they would not be intrusive. He also pointed out that no private information on the players would be stored and that the only tracking done would be how long the player is exposed to the ad.
As Ben Kuchera on Ars says that such ad support for the game will help keep down player expenses that might otherwise be necessary for features like stats and updates. Kuchera added, favorably, that players may expect more than the usual offerings in terms of extras because the game producers are bringing in ad revenue.
